The Nitro model was produced by the Daimler Chrysler for the first time in the year 2007 and later it was produced by Chrysler LLC from the year 2008 till date.
Its assembly plant is located at Toledo, Ohio, United States of America. The Nitro model is produced based on the 4-door SUV body style. The layout of the vehicle is included with front engine provided four wheel and rear wheel drive. The vehicle is designed based on the Chrysler KA platform providing three types of engines namely, 3.7 L power tech V6, 2.8 L VM Motori I4 Diesel engine and the 4.0 L SOHC V6 engine.
All the models in Nitro are available in rear wheel drive along with the part time optional four wheel drive. The older Nitro produced 157 kilo watts of power at the speed of 5200 rotations per minute and torque of 235 lb ft at the speed of 4000 rotations per minute. However, we’re looking at a totally revamped version of the car. The specs are tentative but it is expected that the power will be increased by one and half times, while the Torque will also be increased proportionately.
The 2010 Nitro will come in 6-speed manual, 5-speed automatic and the 4-speed 42 RLE automatic transmissions. The wheel base of the vehicle would be around 2765 mm. The length, width and the height of the vehicle would be 4545 mm, 1855 mm and 1770 mm respectively, while the curb weight of the vehicle would be 2020 kilo grams and comparable to Jeep Liberty model. The model was released with the sliding “Load N Go” as its top-selling feature, same as that on the Saab 9- 5 station wagon model, where the floor can be extended by 18 inches at the back side to ease the loading. The fuel tank in the vehicle has the capacity to store the 19 gallons of fuel and gives the efficiency of 24 miles per gallon on the high way and 18 miles per gallon in the city.
The Auxiliary transmission cooler in the vehicle is provided with the 3.7 L V6 front engine, which generates a stroke of 90.8 mm, compression ratio of 9.7 along with over head cam and 2 valves per cylinder EKG.
The vehicle was advertised in the United States with the tag line of “Charged with Adrenaline”, showing a dog getting electrocuted when it comes in contact with the SUV wheels and after that it pulls the vehicle quickly, but now it will be featured with a revived advertisement.
